Happy new year!

I hope you all had a great celebration to end the first decade of the new millenia. I think we all say the same thing year after year-“boy did that year fly by fast”. I am not so sure it did for me. It went by at the right speed for my liking. The only hard thing was seeing the grandbabies all grow too fast for me. I miss them when I don’t see them. Today is not only the first day of a new year, but it’s the day I get to see my four grandbabies who live too far away. I haven’t seen them in over 2 months, which is the longest time we’ve gone to not see them. They will be staying with us for a few days as we celebrate Christmas all over again.

Instead of reflecting on the past year, I am looking forward to the new adventures ahead in 2011. I plan to try to blog more about my family and memories and find new recipes to try. I have a few cookbooks to sort through and find new favorite dishes for my family. I am excited about the job I have that will be teaching cooking classes at a local coffee shop/cafe’. I’ll have my oldest son there with me as my assistant so this is going to be a great adventure for both of us.

I’ve made no resolutions because I never keep them but I do try to make goals. I’m still working on that list. I had better end this here with one more wish of a great new year for you and your family. I know I’m starting it off right with having all of my family here.

  1. Happy New Year to you as well, Michelle! I wish I lived just a little closer, so that I could come to your classes. I’m so excited for you! I, for one, am glad to say goodbye to 2010, and am looking forward to the promise of good things in 2011. Enjoy your time with your family!

  2. Happy New Year, Michelle! I recently got to see my older brother who lives too far away too. Next year, hopefully I will get to see all of my siblings. They all live too far away (or maybe I do)!

Looking forward to connecting more this year.
