Today is our 19th wedding anniversary. I have the world’s best husband but then again, I am quite biased. He treats me like a queen and encourages me in every single thing I do to make myself a better person, whether it’s in the role of a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend,chef, and soon-to-be business woman. He is my best friend and I can tell him just about anything, although I am guessing there are a few he’d rather not hear, you know, those womanly things. haha….
In honor of our special day I made braciole and meatballs in sauce. I have some leftover fresh pasta from a class from last night I’d like to use up and serve with the meats. Now I don’t often reheat fresh pasta as it tends to not hold up but we’ll give it a try tonight. We also have some wonderful cupcakes from the shop where my daughter works as today was $1.00 day for cupcakes. I could not pass that one up!
We are also celebrating the successes I have been experiencing of later. Some of them are new contacts for future work, as well as a chance to judge a children’s chocolate cookie contest which is part of the local chocolate fest benefiting the Red Cross. But I have to say the biggest one of all is what is happening tomorrow night- I’m having a cooking class filmed for a segment featuring couples’ date night ideas. This will be aired as part of a local daytime talk show. The early information is that I am supposed to have a mike attached to me but I’m not sure how this will all play out. I hope it goes so well and we make the final edit of the segment. I am going to guess it will be aired sometime before Valentine’s day. We also have two classes just for couples set aside now to learn Italian cooking.
It’s almost time to eat so I’ll leave you with this photo of the sauce simmering away with the meatballs and braciole. I wish we had a way to share the wonderful smells coming from the kitchen. I used a different recipe for both and if we like the results, I’ll post those tomorrow.
